The IFC Korea Office is seeking to recruit an Associate Operations Officer/ Operations Officer to be based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The Associate Operations Officer/ Operations Officer will report to the Senior Country Officer of IFC Korea Office and her/his responsibilities will include business development/execution, relationship management with key partners, managing relations with government officials as well as promoting and coordinating IFC’s operations in Korea.

Duties and Accountabilities
 
 •  Support the Senior Country Officer in implementing the IFC Korea work program.
 •  Build and maintain effective relationships with government officials and close relationships with key IFC partners and WBG counterparts in the country office to further IFC’s activities.
•  Effectively liaise and interact with an extensive network of contacts at senior levels (both internal and external), responding to inquiries and addressing diverse situations with tact and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
•  Proactively identify potential investment partners and opportunities based on proven credit quality, market potential, reputation, strategic fit, etc.
•  Utilize strong deal sense and bankability assessment skills expertise to advance business development discussions into executable transactions.
•  Work closely with IFC’s specialists to assess environmental, social, technical, legal, insurance, corporate governance, and other risks in projects and champion IFC’s sustainability offerings to clients.
•  Participate in deal structuring discussions with clients; use negotiation skills to overcome impasses and close transactions. 
•  Create documents and reports for diverse audiences, including business development pitch books, regional and country strategy presentations and IFC internal approval documents. 
•  Monitor and supervise clients’ compliance with the terms of investment agreements, prepare timely supervision reports, identify early warning signs, and if required formulate/implement strategies for workouts, restructurings or rescheduling.
•  Mentor and coach junior staff.
•  Provide support for visiting missions.
