Finance Treasury Specialist Lima

The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for one a Finance Treasury Specialist to provide support to the Finance Department in Lima, Peru.

About the position: The Finance Treasury Specialist will be responsible for performing a wide range of financial transactions, dataanalyses, and the preparation of reports tosupport thetreasury processes. The role requires a strong understanding of cash flow management, banking operations, and internal controls to ensure compliance with institutional and donor requirements.

The selected candidate will report directly to the Senior Corporate Controller and will work in close coordination with various stakeholders within the Finance Department to maintain the integrity and efficiency of treasury-related activities.

This position will be based at CIP Headquarters in Lima, Peru.

Key responsibilities:

Cash Management

• Daily Cash Operations: Oversee daily cash transactions, ensuring efficient cash flow to meet operational needs. This includes monitoring incoming and outgoing cash flows and managing bank account balances.

• Liquidity Management: Ensure sufficient liquidity for the organization's short-term obligations without compromising idle cash.

• Bank Relationships: Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions. Negotiate fees, interest rates, and terms for bank services, including lines of credit and short-term loans.

• Cash Flow Forecasting: Develop accurate cash flow forecasts to predict future financial positions. This includes analyzing trends in cash receipts and disbursements, understanding the impact of business cycles, and identifying potential cash flow challenges.

• Payment Solutions: Implement and manage efficient payment systems for vendor payments, payroll, and other operational expenses. Ensure the security and compliance of payment

processes.

• Bank Signatories: Monitor and ensure that bank signatories on all CIP accounts are up to date in accordance with organizational policies and internal controls. Investment Portfolio Management

• Investment Strategy: Develop and execute an investment strategy that aligns with the CIP’s financial goals, risk tolerance, and liquidity needs. This strategy should aim to maximize returns while safeguarding principal investment.

• Portfolio Monitoring: Regularly monitor the performance of the investment portfolio, making adjustments as necessary to respond to market changes or shifts in organizational strategy.

• Risk Assessment: Conduct thoroughrisk assessments of potential investments, consideringmarket volatility, credit risks, and other relevant factors.

• Compliance and Reporting:Ensure that investment activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Prepare and present regular reports on investment performance and to the Head of Finance.

Audit Support

• Audit Coordination: Support the Senior Corporate Controller in the preparation and coordination of both internal and external audit processes by providing accurate and timely treasury-related documentation and responding to audit queries as required.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economy, finance or related field of study.

• Proven experience in treasury management, including liquidity planning, banking relations, and financial reporting in a multinational or donor-funded organization.

• Proven experience in ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and donor-specific treasury requirements.

Specific Competencies:

• Exceptional analytical thinking and attention to detail

• Strong planning and organizational skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Specialization:

• Strong knowledge of cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and financial risk mitigation. • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards related to treasury operations. • Languages:

o Fluency in the official language of the country location

o Advanced proficiency in English
