The Manufacturing Agribusiness and Services (MAS) group is one of IFC’s key departments responsible for a significant portion of IFC’s business volume, profitability and development reach. MAS engages in a wide range of sub-sectors including health, education, housing, tourism, agriculture, animal protein, forestry, chemicals, automotive, etc.
MAS is seeking to hire an Extended Term Consultant (ETC) to support the team of the Regional Industry Director (RID) for MAS in Europe and Latin America. The position is to be based in São Paulo or Bogota. The selected candidate will handle sensitive information and be required to exercise discretion and judgment. The candidate must be a self-starter, capable of taking initiative to cover a range of tasks, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Ensure that the RID has requisite background information and analytical input to review and make decisions related to delivery of the program, management of the portfolio, and strategic engagements with clients, senior management, WBG colleagues, and government counterparts.
• In particular for the sector portfolio management, support an effective coordination and consistency in terms of data input/output across the Europe-LAC region, working closely with the managers and the portfolio support teams.
• Manage and maintain relevant databases, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of data. Support data extraction, transformation, and analysis to respond to management and operational needs.
• Design, develop, and update interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI (or similar business intelligence tools) to monitor portfolio performance, track key indicators, and support decision-making.
• Apply coding skills (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or similar) to automate data processing, perform advanced analysis, and streamline reporting workflows.
• Assist in the preparation of materials, including presentations, talking points, or other inputs needed for internal and external meetings, conferences, and other events, in coordination with regional/global colleagues and the Europe-LAC management and investment teams.
• Help the RID and the management team to review and compile input to requests related to internal corporate initiatives and deliverables of IFC working groups/ task forces.
• Coordinate with and support the investment teams in terms of any requests or reporting requirements from the front office of the Regional Vice President, as well as ad-hoc requests from other units / departments.
• Assist with internal and external communication, as needed, alongside the Communications team including to help increase social media presence (e.g., LinkedIn) and improve Europe-LAC sector’s external profile. Support the RID and Europe-LAC sector management team with contributions to thought pieces and other knowledge management activities.
• Other analytical and organizational support to the RID when and as needed.
