The World Bank office is currently searching for a Driver to provide an effective and efficient day to day logistics transport function for the Office in Yaoundé, Cameroon. S/he will work as part of the office carpool and will drive office vehicles for transport of authorized personnel usually within Yaoundé, Cameroon but also in the surrounding regions and countries. S/he will be responsible for the delivery and collection of mail. S/he will report to the Operations Manager.
Roles and responsibilities:
The Incumbent’s duties include but are not limited to:
- Drive the World Bank staff to meetings and business sites.
- Operating World Bank office vehicle (including Armored Vehicle) in a responsible and secure manner.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and serviceable condition daily.
- Ensure that the vehicle insurance, registration and general service schedule is up to date.
- Keep an updated vehicle logbook including service and fuel dates; ensure staff sign the logbook.
- Fuel the office vehicle in accordance with the World Bank Group fueling procedures.
- Carry out basic vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Able to prevent accidents with high consideration of other road users and be able to demonstrate professional maneuvers.
- Follow all steps required by the World Bank Road Safety Policy in case of travel and accident
- Ensure passengers’ safety and capable of handling emergency situations.
- Ensure that the vehicle should be fitted with seat belts, fire extinguishers, first aid kit, spare tire(s), jack, wheel spanner, tow rope, jump leads, a set of necessary fan belts and tool kit.
- Ensure that the vehicle should always be in a road worthy condition – making sure that the vehicle is equipped with a spare tire(s).
- Daily inspection of vehicle for tire pressure, engine oil, brake fluid, radiator coolant, fuel level, battery water level and any other requirement.
- Strict adherence to the World Bank’s Road Safety Policies and procedures as well as the country’s National Highway Code.
- Help with ad hoc administrative tasks at the request of office staff.
