The effective and successful achievement of results by the Construction Management Engineer (Construction Supervisor) directly impacts on achievement of the projects and consequently reinforces the visibility and image of UNOPS as an effective service provider in project services and management and strengthens its competitive position as a partner of choice in sustainable development and project services. |
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is required
- A first university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the above-mentioned field or related field with 2 (two) additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree or higher degree.
Experience:
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional construction related experience in site construction management, construction project supervision or related field in combination with an advanced university degree is required.
- Experience in project management and supervision of construction projects in the highlands region of PNG is an asset.
- Current membership in the PNG Institute of Engineers or PNG Institute of Builders is a strong asset.
- Good working knowledge of the Building Regulation 1994, Architect Regulation 1992, Professional Engineers Regulation 1988, and the National Procurement Act 2018 (amended in 2021), along with the Good Procurement Manual is an asset.
- Experience in managing FIDIC contracts is desired.
- Proven experience in managing and coordinating design and construction of water and sanitation (WASH) projects is an advantage.
- Proven experience in Solar PV Installation or Off-grid Solar Power System installation is an advantage.
- Experience in the production of drawings, BOQs, specifications and design reports is an asset.
- Experience in working with government agencies, international organizations, and other stakeholders involved in water and sanitation (WaSH) projects is an asset.
- Valid driving licenses for PNG is required
- Full working knowledge of English is required.
