Reporting Relationship: Regional Finance Manager (RFM) and Head of Administration Unit
Location: Milano or Bologna; possibility of remote working from Italy or abroad

Purpose of the Role
WeWorld is looking for a Regional Finance Officer (RFO) – Middle East and Eurasia. The Regional Finance Officer (RFO) works under the direction of the Head of Administration Unit (HoAU) and Regional Finance Manager (RFM), to ensure correctness and compliance of financial reporting, archive of projects’ archive and accounting, and to collaborate in the development of processes, monitoring and capacity building of finance staff in the countries within Middle East and Eurasia regions.
Main tasks and ResponsIbilitieS
Accounting:
·Support the RFM in performing checks to the Countries’ accounting and verification of periodic reconciliations according to WeWorld procedures Support the RFM in keeping accounts for the part under regional responsibilities and for any necessary set-up for the accounting software
Financial Reporting & Audit:
·Collect supporting documents for the expenses incurred at HQ level where necessary for external controls
·Perform controls on documents archived in the countries
·Provide support to the RFM to prepare expenditures verifications and external audits of the projects
·Support the RFM in verifying the financial reports of projects prepared by the country staff, checking the compliance with donors’ and internal rules and monitor external and internal deadlines
Monitoring & Capacity Building
·Monitoring and capacity building missions on the field are requested
·Support the RFM in training, inductions and capacity building of finance staff
·Support the RFM in providing technical advice on finance and administrative matters to the countries
Any related or eventual additional activities in relation to the tasks can be arranged at a later stage, based on the actual needs
Requirements
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Knowledge:
· Degree in Economics, Political Science or related fields, or equivalent
· Fluency in Italian and English
Professional Experience:
· At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a finance/accounting role in the NGO sector
Skills and Abilities
· Accountancy skills
· Excellent computer skills including full working knowledge MS Office and Internet
· Problem-solver approach with demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and creating efficiencies
· Proven organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks while fostering quality, team spirit and positive working relationships with colleagues
· Strong commitment to the mission of WeWorld, genuine interest for international cooperation development topics
· Demonstrates integrity by modelling the NGO values and ethical standards; displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability.
DESIDERABLE REQUIREMENTS
· Previous experiences at HQ or Regional level would be considered an asset
· Previous experience on the field, in Humanitarian or Development projects, would be considered an asset
Other information
WHAT WE OFFER
Type of contract: a first 6 (six) months collaboration contract subject to verification of the achievement of specific objectives (these objectives will be agreed together with the line managers upon arrival on assignment); a second collaboration contract of 6 (six) months renewable, following the positive evaluation of the first three months of contract
