Background
The UNDP Multi-Country Office (MCO) for Mauritius and Seychelles is implementing its new Country Programme (2024–2028), focusing on socioeconomic transformation and environmental sustainability in Mauritius, and on digital governance, innovative financing, and climate resilience in Seychelles. With a growing development-funded portfolio—delivering around $50M for Mauritius and Seychelles, the MCO has established a dedicated Communications Unit. Its role is to highlight the development impact of UNDP’s work across both countries, promote transparency and accountability, and share human-interest stories that support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As the communications landscape evolves rapidly, the multi-Country Office is increasingly embracing digital transformation, data-driven storytelling, and creative visual content generation. To remain at the forefront of communication trends and standards—and to meet the growing demand for high-quality, timely outputs—it is essential to leverage emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence. From automated graphic design solutions to AI-enhanced writing and data visualization, these tools offer transformative potential to significantly increase the volume, efficiency, and impact of communications.
In this context, the recruitment of a Communication Assistant - Graphic Design and AI is critical. Working under the day-to-day supervision of the Communication Specialist, with matrix responsibility to the Office of the Resident Representative, the incumbent will help integrate secure AI solutions and corporate tools into content creation processes. This includes developing engaging multimedia materials for social media, reports, presentations, websites, and digital campaigns. The Assistant will also contribute to strengthening the UNDP brand, ensuring editorial consistency, managing digital assets, and identifying innovative AI-driven solutions to support the multi-country communications strategy.
This role is essential to ensure that the Communication Unit can keep pace with modern content demands while continuously enhancing the effectiveness, creativity, and reach of its storytelling.
