Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Chief, Science, Technology and Innovation for Development Section of the Technology, Innovation and Knowledge Development Branch, Division on Technology and Logistics of UNCTAD, the consultant will undertake the following tasks: 1. Create visual assets, illustrations, infographics, icons, for the 5 e-learning lessons, based on content and scripts provided by the team. 2. Produce animated videos using Animaker, aligning with the storyline and messaging of each lesson. 3. Adapt or design graphics from scratch, where appropriate, to visualize core concepts such as governance models, technology transfer, or stakeholder engagement. 4. Ensure all visual and animated materials are: a. Optimized for low-bandwidth environments b. Delivered in formats suitable for web use, JPG, PNG, WEBP for images; MP4 for videos 5. Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistency across lessons. 6. Refine multimedia products as requested. UNCTAD DTL STIP has an active subscription to the Animaker. Based on the established style guide and using developed graphics elements, while producing new graphics elements and solutions as needed, the contractor/consultant will develop video elements that will animate storyboards and narratives established for the following 5 lessons: • Lesson 1: Introduction to STI parks and their development role • Lesson 2: STI park policy frameworks • Lesson 3: Design and operation of STI parks • Lesson 4: Technology transfer and commercialization • Lesson 5: Review and assessment Produce videos keeping in mind bandwidth limitations of users in developing countries.

Qualifications/special skills

A first-level university degree in visual arts, or computer graphics, video production, design multimedia production or a related field is required. At least 2 years of experience in graphic design, art, video production or digital media development. Experience with content creation, video editing and graphics design for e-learning is desirable. Skills: Knowledge of animation tools (e.g., Animaker) is required. Knowledge of graphic editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign) is required. Knowledge of multimedia editing tools (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition) is required. Knowledge of e-Learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Studio) is an advantage.

Languages

Fluency in written and oral English is required.
