Functional Responsibilities

Reporting to the Partner Analytics Team Lead, the incumbent will work to drive partner analysis, insight, and foresight across the organisation. In coordination with the Partner Analytics Team Lead, they will support the PLG director in shaping the partnerships discussions with Senior Management. In addition they will  work with colleagues in region/country offices and HQ with their data requirements and help promote the use of dashboards and other analytics data for decision making within the organisation. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  1. Provide data and insights to support senior management decisions

  2. Data support to PLG corporate intelligence initiatives

  3. Maintain and develop tools and datasets


1. Provide data and insights to support senior management decisions
  • Provide data-driven analysis blended with external and forward-looking business intelligence / knowledge and insights to enable informed high-level partnerships discussion to PLG director, UNOPS senior management.
  • Coordinate with PLG colleagues and other UNOPS units, prepare comprehensive packages, incl. data analysis, talking-points, and presentations for regular meetings(such as, Delivery Coordination Meetings, Quarterly Management Review, audit requests, etc.)
2. Support PLG corporate intelligence initiatives
  • Support the development of new functionalities on the new partnerships relationship management system “Opportunity +”. Ensure new data and intelligence sources are captured in datasets and dashboards to drive more comprehensive insights.
  • As part of UNOPS partner survey team, provide data support for the survey, driving, contact collection, data analysis and insight. 
  • Provide support and insights to other key initiatives across PLG.
3. Maintain and develop tools and datasets
  • Manage and enhance the partnerships ecosystem data architecture & processes (account creation, due diligence coordination, etc.), ensuring high data quality and availability to facilitate UNOPS mission.
  • Develop new tools and data views as required to meet developing business needs, including forecasting / foresight analysis. 
  • Ensure continued collaboration with colleagues across headquarters departments to enable cross-cutting/holistic quantitative and qualitative partnership analyses to enable informed prioritization and decision making.
  • Enable and foster open access to internal and external partnership intelligence tools to allow colleagues across the organisation to make data-informed decisions.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:
  • Advanced Degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) is required, preferably related either to the subject matter area (e.g. Development Finance, International Relations or Global Development) and/or data analysis component (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent).
  • A combination of a Bachelor's degree with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the education requirements outlined above.
Experience:
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience where they have demonstrated one or more of the following required skills:
      • Analysing, evaluating, and reporting business-related data and/or statistics, ideally in the subject-matter area

      • Advanced expertise in spreadsheet tools (e.g,. Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel) 

      • Data communication and visualisation through a variety of media - such as presentations, training, reports, dashboards

      • Building dashboards in Google Data Studio or an equivalent dashboard platform (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)

  • PLG will consider candidates with a combination of relevant technical expertise (i.e., data analysis, dashboard development) and subject-matter knowledge. Candidates may be stronger in one of these than the other but should be enthusiastic to learn new skills on the job.
  • Knowledge, education/background, or experience in Development Finance is considered as an asset.
  • Experience working with SQL coding (our team uses Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery) is considered an asset for the role. Training may be made available to the incumbent to fill any skill gaps.

Language:
  • Full working knowledge of English is essential. 
  • Fluency in other UN languages, in particular French and Spanish, is an asset
