SCOPE OF WORK: The Workforce Job Developer intern is a volunteer position to support the IRC in NY’s Economic Empowerment department. This position will support the Workforce Job Developer in finding job opportunities for IRC clients, managing employer partner relationships, and working across departments to best serve our clients holistically as they build self-sufficiency. The intern will conduct research that will support the building of relationships with employers as well as internship and training partners. The intern will also provide job readiness tools to participants. The ideal candidates will have prior experience in the field of career development or job readiness programming. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Research prospective employer partners and track outreach efforts · Provide assistance in organizing workshops, such as mock job interview events · Assist clients with job applications as needed and liaise with employers · Collaborate with other IRC in NY programs as necessary · Attend job fairs and community events and represent IRC if needed · Adhere to IRC policies, particularly those related to confidentiality and client privacy. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. Intern will learn how to effectively outreach and develop relationships with partners and employers 2. Intern will learn how to provide direct services to diverse immigrant populations 3. Intern will learn how to manage career programs across a wide network REQUIREMENTS: Interns must be based in US, must be a US citizen or have US work authorization, must be enrolled in post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post-secondary institution within the last two years, and must pass a background check. · Experience working with immigrants or refugees in a social service setting · Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Teams, email) · Graphic design skills a plus · Fluency in a language other than English a plus · Adhere to professional standards of confidentiality and boundary setting This position reports to the Workforce Job Developer.
