RESPONSIBILITIES
As Head of Communications, the successful candidate will work closely with FCA’s Management and Communications Team, taking responsibility for developing and implementing a communication strategy aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and brand strategies. They will develop and implement processes to enable delivery of the communication strategy. They will lead media outreach and provide strategic counsel to the CEO and executive team, creating and communicating the organization’s messages to maximize impact and ensure overall consistency of the brand. These responsibilities include the following tasks:
- Lead efforts to further develop the overall brand (written and visual) in collaboration with the CEO.
- Ensure development of quality assurance processes for publications in collaboration with other units and the head of organization. Provide editorial input for key publications, reports, and articles.
- Support the translation of technical and policy research outcomes into impactful messaging for targeted audiences (e.g., policymakers, civil society, etc.).
- Ensure efficient collaboration among team members and with other units.
- Identify and seize media opportunities to augment impact, lead production of opinion pieces, including ghost-writing and pitching, write and distribute media releases and media kits.
- Support the communications team with managing publications and graphic production processes as well as digital and social media tactics.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERTISE
- Master’s degree or equivalent in in communications, public relations, journalism, business administration, economics, international relations, or other related fields to the post.
- At least ten years of progressively relevant work experience in cleantech-related fields. Journalism experience and/or experience working on climate and/or cleantech topics is an advantage.
- Excellent command of English, both oral and written. German language skills are desirable.
- Strong ability to establish priorities and work to tight timelines within a fast-paced environment.
- Professionalism, with the ability to work under minimal supervision with a high level of resilience, ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with high-level stakeholders.
- Experience with donor communications would be a plus.
REMUNERATION
FCA offers a competitive salary commensurate to the level of experience and allowances including post adjustment and comprehensive preventive medicine services.
FULL-TIME PREFERRED | WORK FROM HOME
Preferably located in the Brussels, Cologne, or Berlin region to allow for hybrid collaboration - or completely comfortable working remote.
DURATION OF CONTRACT | STARTING DATE
