Overview of position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analytics, reporting, and client services within the humanitarian and development sector. The role is designed as a learning journey, giving interns exposure to real projects while providing strong guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities. At CTG, internships follow the 70-20-10 learning model:

  • 70% on-the-job exposure – shadowing colleagues, working with real data, contributing to client reports.

  • 20% learning from others – guided by a dedicated supervisor, supported by a mentor, and collaborating across teams.

  • 10% formal learning – onboarding briefings, in-house trainings, and access to CTG’s Kaya online training platform.

Role objectives

The intern’s responsibilities will gradually expand with experience:

  • Collect and analyse data to support client and project reporting.

  • Design and improve reporting dashboards and templates (Excel/PowerBI).

  • Produce internal and external reports with actionable insights.

  • Collaborate with Account Managers and Country Teams to obtain timely data.

  • Support improvements to reporting processes, making them more user-friendly and impactful.

  • Assist with tracking client engagement, feedback, and performance issues.

By the end of the internship, the intern will have gained:

  • Practical experience in data analytics, visualization, and reporting.

  • Insights into project management in the humanitarian sector.

  • Exposure to client service and stakeholder engagement across diverse cultures.

  • Professional development through structured training, learning-by-doing, constructive and regular feedback

Project reporting

This intern will report into the Contracts Manager but will be actively communicating with multiple relevant stakeholders across the organisation.

Key competencies
  • Recent graduate (within the past year) or final-year student in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or a related field.

  • Strong technical skills in Excel and PowerBI; familiarity with data management systems is an asset.

  • Analytical thinker, detail-oriented, and able to generate actionable insights.

  • Dynamic and proactive, with strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Team management

This role has no team management responsibilities

Further information

This role includes an internship stipend to provide financial support to the intern during their placement
