Context

UN Volunteers should be provided equal duty of care as extended to all host entity personnel. Host entity support to the UN Volunteer includes, but is not limited to:
• Introductory briefings about the organization and office-related context including security, emergency procedures, good cultural practice and orientation to the local environment.
• Support with arrival administration including setting-up of bank accounts, residence permit applications and completion of other official processes as required by the host government or host entity.
• Structured guidance, mentoring and coaching by a supervisor including a clear workplan and performance appraisal.
• Access to office space, equipment, IT support and any other systems and tools required to complete the objectives of the assignment including a host entity email address.
• Access to shared host entity corporate knowledge, training and learning.
• Inclusion of the volunteer in emergency procedures such as evacuations.
• Leave management.
• DSA for official travel, when applicable.
• All changes in the Description of Assignment occurring between recruitment and arrival or during the assignment need to be formalized with the United Nations Volunteer Programme.
• Investigate misconduct: sharing reports with the UNV.
• Provide emergency assistance, e.g., the death of volunteer or medical evacuation, in collaboration with UNV. Accept letters of guarantees or potential liabilities for covering medical costs not claimable under medical insurance in extraordinary situations (e.g. isolation facilities` services during pandemics).


Task description

- Manages data collection and analysis and develops comprehensive plans to implement national programmes, achieving results such as:
• Support the implementation of nutrition surveillance system.
• Communicate and follow up with relevant FMoH/ SMoH units the data collection for the WHO Report:
• Work closely with the state and field MoH and WHO officers to improve the timely reporting from all function SCs
• Support the establishment of the IYCF reporting from the Stabilization centers
• Monthly CMAM report sharing
• Infant and Young Child Feeding activities
• Growth Monitoring and Promotion.
• Participation in the planning of WHO emergency and humanitarian nutrition activities in emergency and crisis preparedness, response and recovery at country level.


-Monitors and coordinates the implementation of planned activities, national campaigns and field action, achieving results such as:
• Support and coordinate the implementation of joint nutrition activities with WHO technical and financial reports including Updating the food Composition table and developing the local food recipes
• Follow up on the establishment of center of excellence at Khartoum.
• Follow up the finalization, Launching and dissemination of the of the FMoH/NPHL/WHO micronutrient survey in coordination with other involved UN Agencies and partners.
• Follow up of the WHO nutrition supplies to reach its required destinations
• Participate in nutrition meetings/workshops with WHO (HQ, EMRO) and related sectors, based on need.

- Carries out training activities to strengthen capacity at various levels, achieving results such as:
• Identification of training needs for respective target audiences and development of comprehensive plans for capacity building
• Organisation and delivery of training activities to various target groups, e.g. to improve case management and prevention at various levels.
