Mission and objectives

UNICEF has been working for the realization of the rights of children and women of Moldova since 1995. Partnerships with the government, parliamentarians, civil society, media, business and others have resulted in advances in the realization of children’s rights in a number of areas and the increased commitment of duty bearers to the fulfillment of their obligations as per the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). UNICEF’s work addresses issues of all children in the country to improve their health, education, development, and protection.

Context

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

Every year, the UNITE Campaign focuses on a specific theme. The campaign calls on citizens to show how much they care about ending violence against women and girls by sharing the actions they are taking to create a world free from violence towards women.

UNICEF cooperation with UNV has established a Special Programme Initiative, aiming at engaging UN Volunteers to support UNICEF and in particular the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign in the Republic of Moldova. The selected UN Community Volunteers will assist UNICEF team in Moldova in:
• Content Design: Support UNICEF in developing visual content and communication materials (images, flyers, posters, booklets, and digital assets) to support campaigns and outreach initiatives.

Task description

Under the direct supervision UNICEF Moldova Social Behavior Change (SBC) Officer, the UN Community Volunteers will:

• Develop high-quality visual content (digital and print), including images, infographics, flyers, posters, banners, and booklets for SBC communication in line with UNICEF branding and visibility guidelines.
• Adapt and localize existing global UNICEF campaign materials into the Moldovan context, ensuring cultural sensitivity and accessibility (including for persons with disabilities and refugees).
• Support UNICEF in designing SBC outreach materials for Social Behaviour Change Communication and awareness-raising campaigns on child protection, GBV prevention, inclusion, and youth engagement.
• Adapt in coordination with UNICEF the content into user-friendly, engaging designs.
• Ensure that all materials are optimized for multiple formats and platforms (social media, print, outdoor, community spaces).
• Provide editable source files and final ready-to-use versions in all required formats.
• Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
