SCOPE OF WORK:
Refugee.Info is an innovative, first-of-its-kind project that harnesses social media to connect with refugees and asylum-seekers, listen to their questions, and provide information. Refugee.Info (RI) is the European instance of Signpost, a joint initiative launched in Greece by the International Rescue Committee and Mercy Corps in 2015 at the height of the European refugee crisis.
We are now looking for a Ukrainian Social Media moderator and Community Engagement to join our team to answer users’ questions in Ukrainian, translate content in Ukrainian and keep close relationships with the Ukrainian Communities in Greece to identify needs and trends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately and timely answer beneficiaries’ messages, comments and engage in conversation over Refugee.Info Greece online platforms in Ukrainian (and English).
- Collaboration with the Moderation Lead and the Legal Advisor on answering complex questions.
- Follow protocol to escalate any protection-related cases.
- Collect information about the Ukrainian population's needs and trends and inform the relevant program leads.
- Translate content on Refugee.Info Greece platforms into Ukrainian.
- Support the expansion on social media channels
- Read Refugee.Info content and stay abreast of changes in the refugee and migration context in Greece.
- Share opinions, feedback, cultural awareness, contextual knowledge and learning with the team on an ongoing basis.
- Participate to regular online meetings.
- Any other duty, as assigned by the supervisor, to enhance the program.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of one year of related professional experience working with refugees, migrants, or other vulnerable populations;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, partners, and clients in English and Ukrainian;
- Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures;
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Strong computer proficiency and good typing speed.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and how refugees use them.
- Willingness to learn.
- Integrity and honesty.
- A great teammate.
