The Visitor Engagement Analyst will maintain a foundational understanding of the Leveraging Our Lands (LOL) Visitor Engagement and Activation strategy and the goals, actions and work processes of assigned North American business units. They will provide analytical support to cross-functional project teams focused on visitor engagement and activation. They will lead efforts to implement and analyze visitor use surveys and mobility data, supporting the identification and understanding of visitor behaviors, preferences and outcomes. They will collaborate with Business Units to translate data insights into actionable recommendations for visitor engagement and activation and support the development of scalable training programs for staff and volunteers. They will contribute to the design and development of new or modified engagement processes and tools, and may recommend the introduction of new strategies, technologies or organizational structures to improve outcomes. The Analyst will provide support to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications for LOL ADMC) in implementing priority engagement initiatives, including the launch of a Discovery Fund to support BUs in implementing new and innovative local visitor engagement and activation projects. They may be responsible for presenting formal written reports or presentations to stakeholders regarding the outcome of data analysis or proposed recommendations. They will have substantial contact with internal stakeholders, collaborating to leverage solutions across business areas. They will analyze situations, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions to improve visitor experience, engagement and revenue outcomes. The Analyst will stay informed on market trends and best practices in visitor analytics, mobility data and nonprofit engagement strategies.
This position requires traveling occasionally and working long and flexible hours as needed.

We’re looking for a data-driven, strategic, and collaborative Visitor Engagement Analyst to support the implementation of The Nature Conservancy’s Leveraging Our Lands (LOL) Visitor Engagement and Activation Strategy. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and mission-driven innovation—and who is passionate about helping people connect with nature in meaningful and equitable ways.
As the Visitor Engagement Analyst, you’ll serve as a key liaison between the LOL central team and TNC’s North American business units and divisions. You’ll lead efforts to acquire, analyze, and interpret visitor use survey and mobility data, translating insights into actionable strategies that deepen visitor engagement and drive revenue generation. You’ll also help scale staff and volunteer training programs and support the launch of a Discovery Fund to empower local teams to pilot innovative engagement projects.
This position requires traveling occasionally and working long and flexible hours as needed. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
You’ll be expected to lead project teams in:
Designing and managing visitor use surveys across a diverse network of preserves, working with contractors and internal teams to ensure data quality and relevance.
Interpreting mobility data to uncover patterns in visitation, trail use, and site engagement, and translating those insights into tailored recommendations for preserve programming and digital activation.
Collaborating with business units to co-create engagement tactics that reflect local context while aligning with broader strategic goals.
Mapping business processes and KPIs to identify opportunities for scaling successful engagement models and improving infrastructure.
Supporting the launch and management of the Discovery Fund, including tracking project outcomes and building a library of scalable innovations for internal use.
This is a three-year term position, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on how TNC connects people to nature. This role will require occasional travel for in-person team meetings. What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
Experience generating reports and analyzing and interpreting data.
Experience managing and implementing multiple projects.
Experience with business process analysis and/or improvement.
Experience with current technology in relevant field.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills and comfort working with both qualitative and quantitative data to turn insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
Ability to synthesize complex findings and present them in compelling ways to stakeholders across disciplines.
Experience with accessible and inclusive engagement strategies, and an eagerness to help TNC create welcoming experiences for all visitors.
Initiative and independence and comfort in managing projects with minimal supervision, making decisions based on analysis and context, and representing your work in high-level forums.
Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experiences are appreciated.
Ability to manage and implement complex processes.
Ability to work in partnership with others in a collaborative or advisory role.
Advanced knowledge in current and evolving technology related to field of experience.
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and document new and/or improved processes and effectively communicate benefits.
Demonstrated ability to write for various audiences and excellent presentation skills.
Knowledge of current trends in the specific field, preferably in a non-profit environment.
Proficiency in interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results.
Strong organizational skills, time management, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Successful experience in managing multiple projects and implementing strategic program goals.
Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $67,500-$100,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
