Mission and objectives
The UN Resident Coordinator (RC) provides leadership to the UN Country Team in Turkey and the UN’s programming work in support of national priorities. The RC has a team composed of 10 national staff and 1 international staff, forming the RC Office (RCO), and is based in Ankara.
The RC leads the UNSDCF process and oversees the implementation of the UNSDCF through, among other, the work of the Result Groups. The UNSDCF is underpinned by a financing and resource mobilisation strategy.
This will include the coming one to two years, among other,
1) fully operationalise the result groups and the UNSDCF implementation modalities (e.g. joint work plans, strategic planning, results reporting);
2) enhancing coherence and synergy between programmatic approaches in the UNSDCF and the 3RP to support response to refugees and migrants in Turkey which includes ensuring peaceful co-existence between the refugees and the host communities; and
3) the integration of programmatic approaches to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey, which is directly linked with supporting the public health systems and equitable access to health services.

Context
The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day. The campaign calls on citizens to show how much they care about ending violence against women and girls by sharing the actions they are taking to create a world free from violence towards women.
United Nations Resident Coordinators Office (RCO) in cooperation with UNV has established a Special Programme Initiative, aiming at engaging UN Volunteers to support UNRCO and in particular the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign in Turkiye.
The selected national UN Community Volunteer will assist UNRCO team in events: Support in organization of events to raise awareness on gender-based violence and in relation to the upcoming United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for Türkiye, covering the period 2026–2030.

Task description
Under the direct supervision UN RCO Admin Assistant, the UN Community Volunteer will:
• Assist UNRCO Admin Assistant in planning and organisation of consultations and workshops.
• Coordinate with facilitators to ensure smooth execution of workshops, including preparation of materials, logistical arrangements, and participant outreach.
• Assist facilitators and UNRCO in minute-taking and elaboration of workshop reports.
• Maintain records of participants, attendance, and workshop materials.
• Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
• Assist UNRCO Admin Assistant in planning and organisation of consultations and workshops.
