Overview of positionWe are recruiting a Regional Director to lead our operations in East Africa (based in Nairobi, Kenya). This is a high-impact international leadership role, overseeing multiple country programmes and driving growth, profitability, compliance, and operational excellence in challenging humanitarian and development contexts.
In addition to this immediate post, strong applicants will also be considered for our leadership pipeline, with potential future Regional Director assignments in MENA, Africa, and Asia.
Strategic Leadership & Regional Oversight
Shape and deliver the regional strategy for the assigned region, aligned with global goals.
Mentor operational and finance management team members in the region and build a strong management pipeline across multiple geographies.
Represent the organisation with governments, donors, and partners at the highest levels.
Financial & Business Growth
Lead P&L management across multi-country operations.
Drive revenue generation, business expansion, and sustainable profitability.
Ensure full compliance with national and international financial and regulatory frameworks.
Partnerships & Business Development
Develop and expand client relationships across humanitarian and development sectors.
Identify and secure new business opportunities in East Africa while also contributing to pipeline growth at global level for CTG.
Provide oversight and support for bids, proposals, and key negotiations.
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
Guarantee high-quality service delivery and compliance with global ethical standards.
Act as the escalation point for complex operational or security issues.
Ensure staff safety and business continuity in fragile and high-risk contexts.
This role reports to the COO.
Education:Master’s degree in Management, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
Experience:
At least 11–15 years in progressively senior leadership roles across international development/humanitarian contexts.
Minimum two international postings as Country Director, Regional Head, or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years' experience leading and managing medium to large sized teams spread geographically.
Proven success in P&L accountability, business expansion, and revenue growth.
Experience leading large, multicultural teams in complex environments.
Demonstrated capacity in compliance, governance, and ethics oversight
Languages:
Bilingual fluency in English and either Arabic or French (essential requirement).

Travel: Up to 40% regional and international travel, including to high-risk areas, if required.
