Position Overview: The Human Rights and Communities Projects Manager will be responsible for the design, planning, and delivery of complex social infrastructure and community development projects in Noro, while ensuring alignment with Bolton’s global Human Rights and Communities strategy. The role combines strategic design and governance (frameworks, compliance, partnerships, human rights integration) with hands-on execution (CAPEX project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and impact monitoring). The role acts as the key bridge between Bolton’s global sustainability commitments and their tangible implementation on the ground in Solomon Islands. This position requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, experience managing projects in developing contexts, and the ability to navigate institutional relationships at local, national, and international levels.
This position will report hierarchically to the APAC HR Director and functionally to the Global Human Rights and Communities Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Social Projects´ Design, Monitoring and Evaluation
o Develop feasibility studies, masterplans, and business cases for large-scale social development initiatives and coordinate Social Projects for Bolton´s employees and their families (e.g., integrated health clinic, education excellence program, staff housing, waste management, awareness campaigns, medical emergencies…).
o Translate community needs, government priorities, and donor frameworks into actionable project roadmaps and budgets.
o Ensure all initiatives align with Bolton’s global human rights and sustainability commitments and contribute to long-term, inclusive local development goals.
o Lead baseline and impact assessments, defining KPIs and sustainability indicators to track progress through Bolton´s internal procedures and adjust plans to guarantee sustainable roadmaps
o Establish reporting mechanisms for the Impact Committee and partners.
o Monitor and evaluate programmatic initiatives for effectiveness and scalability, ensuring integration with broader development goals.
2. Stakeholders´ engagement and Institutional Relations Management
o Build partnerships with government ministries (e.g., Health, Education, Housing, Western Province authorities).
o Liaise with international organizations and local community groups.
o Represent SolTuna & NFD in consortiums, and institutional forums.
o Ensure projects are culturally appropriate and aligned with Pacific context realities.
o Support the search of external funding and donor negotiations.
3. Governance & Risk Management
o Define governance frameworks for transparent project oversight.
o Support all the functions of Bolton Food in the compliance of corporate policies and codes.
o Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies across financial, operational, and reputational dimensions.
o Support external and internal social audits and human rights impact assessments and related action plans
4. Training, Capacity Building, and Advocacy
o Support HR and local leadership teams in designing and delivering trainings on human rights, social sustainability, and responsible business conduct.
o Build local capacity for project governance, stakeholder engagement, and social performance monitoring.
o Promote internal and external awareness of Bolton’s Human Rights and Communities commitments through communication and advocacy initiatives.
o Stay informed about social and human rights regulations at local and regional level.
o Support the advocacy roadmap in the Region

Educational Background
Postgraduate studies in Sustainable Development or Humanitarian Aid (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
- 8–10 years’ experience in project management of complex cooperation for development projects or humanitarian aid in Global South countries.
- Experience in internal and external stakeholders’ engagement, including institutional partnerships and donor frameworks.
- Pacific Islands experience and proven track record in managing large CAPEX projects and infrastructure programs will be highly desirable.
Language and Location:
o Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
o Willingness to relocate and live in Noro, Solomon Islands
