The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a dedicated and motivated Local Agroforestry Coordinator for our hosted organization, CIFOR-ICRAF in the region.
About CIFOR-ICRAF:More than a research institute—it is a hub of the brightest minds working together to develop nature-based solutions for forested and tree-based landscapes. We collaborate with governments, academia, civil society, and the private sector to address five major global challenges: deforestation and biodiversity loss, the climate crisis, the transformation of unsustainable food systems, unsustainable value and supply chains, and extreme inequality.
About the role: The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for coordinating the implementation, monitoring, and systematization of activities related to the Agroecology TPPhttps://www.agroecologytpp.org/, specifically for the B-REAL within the framework of Multifunctional Landscapes program in Ucayali. The role will lead the co-design and co-learning activities on tree-based systems interventions and support the pilot of a decision-support tool to guide technical assistance and communication on integrating agroecological and tree-based practices into farming and natural resource management systems in Ucayali.
Key responsibilities:
- Systematize and characterizeNature+ initiativeswithintheproject'sscope, identifyinggenderbarriers and opportunities for scaling in prioritizedlandscapes, and presentingthem in a summaryreport and structureddatabase.
- Developmethodological and technical inputs for thecreationoffarm (Planes prediales) and communityplans (SEAL CUSAF), with a focusonstrengtheningthe role oftree-basedsystems.
- Contributewithmethodological inputs totheadaptationofthe local V2A processtostrengthentheco-designapproach at nestedlevels (plotfarmcommunitylandscape) in connectionto MFL.
- Providetechnical inputs ontree-basedpracticesthatcontributetoimprovingbiodiversity in agriculturalsystems and land-use mosaics in areas and land use systemsidentifiedwithprojectpartners (basedonthe DB and onexisting material and toolsfrom CIFOR ICRAF).
- Participate in theestablishmentof a networkoflearning sites ontree-basedNature+ practices and approaches.

Design and implementparticipatory training modules ontree-basedNature+ practices, aimed at biodiversityconservation and improvingproductiononfarms.

Supporttheexpansion and applicationof a tool for selectingtreespecies, in ordertoimprovebiodiversityonplots and in thelandscape.
- Carry outcomplementaryactivitiesthatcontributeto CIFOR-ICRAF research and supporttheinterventionofthenationaltechnicalteam in Ucayali, withintheframeworkoftheinstitutional agenda.

Prepare and submittechnicalprogress and final reports, in accordancewiththeformats, deadlines, and guidelinesestablished in thesub-agreement.
Requirements
What are we looking for?

Master in Forestry, Environmental, or Agronomic engineering with a minimum of five years of experience in coordinating field projects related to agroforestry, restoration, and agroecology.
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated professional experience in similar positions, especially in international organizations or NGOs.
