Context

Under the overall supervision of the Supply Chain Officer and direct supervision of the National Supply Chain Officer, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for the following:

Responsibilities

  1. Collect and deliver mail, documents, pouches, and other communications/items from and to the country office as required. 
  2. Monitor the stock availability of paper towel, toilet paper, hand soap and other cleaning supplies/equipment at the designated floor(s)/area(s) 

  3. Replenish and load water dispensers at the designated floor(s)/area(s)

  4. In coordination with the responsible P&L staff, assist with dispatching the weekly/monthly needs of the cleaning team

  5. In coordination with the responsible P&L staff, assist in delivering high volume orders to the respective requesting units. In coordination with the responsible P&L staff, escort Service Providers when performing services related to the building 

  6. Perform minor maintenance works, including but not limited to:

    1. Routine check-up to the bathrooms within our office bldg. and accommodation and reporting any issues to the responsible P&L staff 

    2. Routine check up of the water tank, generator, solar panels and filter conditions ensuring that any replacement required is reported to the responsible P&L staff.

    3. Minor repair of desks, chairs, door frames or door locks 

    4. Wall fixing of corkboards, TVs or any other similar fixtures 

    5. Replacement of light bulbs

  7. Ensure sufficient stock of drinking water and initiating daily supply and delivery to office water coolers.
  8. ​​Drive assigned IOM office vehicle(s) as needed. 
  9. Support in the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle(s) to ensure roadworthiness of the vehicles.  This includes daily checking of tires, brakes, engine oil, fan belt, etc. 
  10. Arrange for minor repairs and ensure that the vehicles are kept clean. 
  11. Ensure that the IOM vehicle(s) is used only for official/authorized business, as advised by the supervisor. 
  12. Make sure that the daily log sheet is prepared, and a monthly report is prepared summarizing statistics linked to mileage, fuel consumption, etc. for the vehicle. 
  13. Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions, which involves IOM and its officials. Take proper actions to reduce potential security threats to IOM officials and/or property within the immediate vicinity of the vehicle and along transport routes. 
  14. Perform any other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education
  • School diploma and relevant experience in the messenger services with two years of relevant experience. 

    Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Languages
  • IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. 

    For this position, fluency in Arabic is required (oral and written)
