Salary: According to TVöD Bund, pay grade E10
Location: Berlin, Germany
Department & reporting line: Finance & Administration / Head of Unit Finance Management
 
  • Develop and review project budgets in line with donor regulations
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support project managers on the financial planning of project activities and donor financial requirements
  • Identify, assess and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with projects
  • Provide advice on contracts with project partners and service providers 
  • Review and approve invoices, travel expense, partners’ financial reports and payments, including required supporting documentation. 
  • Support the preparation of annual financial statements.
Your knowledge, experience & skills

  • University degree in finance, accounting, business administration or auditing. 
  • At least 3 year’s experience in financial management of donor-funded projects
  • Knowledge of donor funding regulations (e.g. German Federal Foreign Office, European Commission)
  • Good understanding of procurement and funding processes
  • Experience in auditing is an advantage
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Fluent English; German at least B1 (written and spoken)
  • Independent working style, strong ownership, and strong communication skills.
