The African Union Development Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Programme Assistant, CAADP Implementation.
Under the supervision of the Principal Programme Officer, Agriculture and Rural Transformation, the Programme Assistant will provide logistical and technical support to the implementation of Phase II of the AGRA Grant Support to AUDA-NEPAD. The role supports effective project delivery through coordination of meetings and travel, management of project information and documentation, and timely preparation of packages and internal clearance submissions in line with AUDA-NEPAD procedures.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts, and approaches relevant to the agricultural sector or related fields.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and work with a wide range of individuals and institutions.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision; proactive, shows initiative, and exercises sound judgement.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness; able to observe and understand business processes and document them thoroughly and accurately.
- Excellent working knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent oral communication, writing, and editing skills; ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level.
- Planning and organising: prioritises tasks, coordinates multiple activities, and meets deadlines.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a High School Certificate and a College Diploma in General Administration, Developmental Studies, Office Administration, Management, or Social Sciences and related fields.
Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressive administrative or project support experience, including at least two (2) years in a similar role in regional, international, or multinational organisations.
- Experience in an administrative support role within a partner-funded project environment.
- Experience providing project implementation support to large-scale continental development programmes and working with experts from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.

Remuneration:
Indicative basic salary of US$19,701.71 per annum plus other entitlements e.g., Post Adjustment (46% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($16,813.44 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
