Context
UNDP Guatemala manages a diverse portfolio of projects implemented across multiple territories and thematic areas. Strengthening territorial intelligence and geospatial analysis is increasingly important to improve strategic decision-making, identify intervention gaps, strengthen coordination efforts and communicate results more effectively.
The Strategic Support Unit (Unidad de Apoyo Estratégico – UAE) leads strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, knowledge management and partnerships coordination functions within the UNDP Country Office. As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen evidence-based management and territorial analysis capacities, the office seeks to enhance the use of georeferenced information, data analytics and visualization tools to better monitor programmatic interventions and results across Guatemala.
The UN Volunteer Data and Georeferencing Associate will contribute to strengthening strategic monitoring and territorial analysis capacities by supporting the consolidation, analysis and visualization of programmatic and partnership-related information, with a focus on territorial data and geospatial analysis.
The position will support the development of integrated territorial information systems and contribute to the production of strategic evidence and visual tools that allow the Country Office to better understand:
• where projects and initiatives are implemented;
• what development results are being achieved at territorial level;
• which partnerships and stakeholders are operating across territories;
• and how interventions contribute to national and local development priorities.
The assignment will also contribute to institutional learning, knowledge management and data-informed decision-making processes.
