The Position:
Based in Belize, one of the Liaison offices of the UNFPA Sub-regional Offices for the Caribbean (SROC), the Programme Analyst will provide programmatic leadership within the UNFPA SROC in SRH as well externally in coordination and collaboration with relevant stakeholders across the UN, CSOs, Governments, regional and international entities. The Programme Analyst will have oversight responsibility for the adolescent Pregnancy Prevention project in Belize and Suriname In particular, the Programme Analyst will play a key role in facilitating the implementation of the 2025-2029 programme “Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention in Belize and Suriname: Empowering Adolescent Girls to Realize their full potential”. S/he collaborates with the technical and programme staff in the Regional office and the Sub-Regional Office for the Caribbean (SROC).
The Programme Analyst will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the implementation of APP activities in the field. This includes overseeing the deployment of monitoring compliance with activity schedules, ensuring effective information flow, and managing programme and financial implementation by tracking progress and funds expended at the project level. He/she will lead programme implementation, including financial monitoring and ensuring tracking of results as per the performance management framework.
The Programme Analyst will provide quality technical support to UNFPA implementing partners in project planning, implementation, and monitoring.

Job Purpose:
The Programme Analyst will report to the Sexual and Reproductive Health Technical Adviser, and will be required to complete tasks in a structured manner. The Programme Analyst maintains collaborative relationships with all internal contacts such as the programme/project and operations staff at the Sub Regional Office as well as the wider Regional Office. External contacts include other UN agencies in the country, counterparts and partners in Belize and the wider Caribbean including local and international NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, young people, and Centre of Excellence experts, etc.
You would be responsible for:
- Provide technical guidance to inform the selection of implementing partners for the project and identify capacity building needs of partners and lead the coordination of technical assistance, mentoring, training and capacity development initiatives targeted to partners.
- Monitor programme expenditures and disbursements to ensure delivery is in line with approved programme budgets and to realize targeted delivery levels.
- Ensure timely and effective implementation of UNFPA activities (administrative and programmatic) of the annual operational plan of the project,, based on UNFPA's implementation and procurement modalities.
- Provide support to strengthen multi-sectoral partnerships including with government agencies, civil society, UN Agencies and development partners for more effective and coordinated programme development and implementation as appropriate
- Work in close communication with the Representative/Head of Office, UNFPA liaison and the Regional Project Coordination to ensure the effective implementation of the project objectives in the Belize
- Identify promising practices, technical expertise and strategic opportunities relating to indigenous and Tribal people in Belize and Suriname and identify, develop and disseminate knowledge products, lessons learned and good practices.
- Support programme reporting within UNFPA and donor reports, including contributing to the collation of human interest stories in collaboration with the communication team.
- Assist in the development, editing and finalization of articles, press releases, human interest stories, speeches and other advocacy/information materials for both web-based and traditional media as appropriate.
- Prepare progress reports, memory aids, presentations and systematization of activities that allow a permanent update of information to evaluate and report on the project management, its intermediate results, the impacts of the intervention and possible difficulties that affect progress.
