PHILIPPINES : RESEARCH AND PROJECT SUPPORT INTERN
Please note that the deadline is based on Korean Standard Time Zone (KST, UTC+9)
INTRODUCTION TO GGGI
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page.
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Background
The Philippines is experiencing rapid growth in data centers, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI) applications, resulting in increasing energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions. The EAI-DC Project seeks to promote the deployment of energy-efficient Neural Processing Unit (NPU)-based AI accelerator provided by Korean technology as an alternative to conventional GPU-based AI systems.
As an initial phase of the project, GGGI intends to undertake a rapid assessment to identify a suitable Philippine company for pilot testing and assess the technical, operational, and commercial readiness for deployment of the technology. The results will serve as the basis for a future demonstration project and investment mobilization activities. Alongside technical feasibility, the project will also identify policy development needs and regulatory opportunities required to foster this emerging sector.
Objective
The objective of this internship is to provide research, data collection, and administrative/coordination support to the EAI-DC Project team, contributing to the Market and Stakeholder Assessment, Baseline Assessment, and Pilot Demonstration Preparation activities under the guidance of the GGGI Philippines Project Manager.
SCOPE OF WORK
The Intern shall undertake the following activities:
- Support coordination with CTAF Secretariat in project implementation and communications
- Support desk research on the Philippine data center, cloud computing, and AI infrastructure market, including relevant policies (e.g., DOST, DOE, DICT) and industry trends.
- Assist in compiling and organizing a longlist of potential pilot companies (data center operators, cloud service providers, AI solution providers, AI-intensive enterprises).
- Support desk research on market assessment and policy landscape analysis.
- Support formatting, referencing, and proofreading of the project deliverables.
- Assist with logistics for site visits and the stakeholder validation workshop in Manila, including venue/travel coordination as needed.
