The Director will be responsible for managing the WCA division and office in Abidjan (Côte D´Ivoire) and serving on IFAD's senior management team. The main focus of Director positions is strategic leadership, innovation and management. Most typically as a member of a departmental management team, division Directors are responsible for managing and supervising the delivery of a division's programme of work within an allocated budget.
In particular, Regional Directors manage and co-ordinate the delivery of the Regional portfolio and priorities and is responsible for its human, financial and material IFAD’s resources.
The position is located in West and Central Africa Division and currently oversees all IFAD operations and activities in the region including, but not limited, to the 24 country programmes: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.
