MSF WaCA
Established in 2019, MSF WaCA (West and Central Africa) is the first MSF headquarters on the African continent. It reflects the movement’s ambition to reinvent itself after 50 years of humanitarian action worldwide, aiming to ensure greater access to healthcare, faster responsiveness, and stronger proactivity to provide wider medical coverage for crisis-affected populations.
Our Ambition
Through an independent and impartial approach, we aim to make a difference for people in crisis by:
-
Placing the patient at the center of healthcare decisions, as the primary actor of their own health.
-
Empowering field teams, who are closest to daily realities, to define operational priorities.
-
Anchoring MSF’s interventions within civil society, leveraging its resources, academic expertise, research, and medical skills.
-
Building a new model of humanitarian action, serving patients innovatively, with a strong focus on digital transformation.
Our Approach
-
Emergency interventions that are rapid and effective.
-
Innovative projects where patients play a central role in managing their health.
-
Medium-term projects, implemented in partnership with communities and ministries of health.
-
Associates are actively involved in strategic decision-making.
-
A zero-tolerance policy on abuse and harassment.
-
Agile operating models adapted to evolving contexts.
-
A work culture rooted in inclusion and diversity of thought.
