This internship is designed to be full-time and in person but can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful candidate. Interns working remotely need to be in a time zone of the American Continent.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Officer in the Regional Director´s Office of the Latin America and the Caribbean Office, the intern will be supporting the Forum of Ministers of Environment of Latin America and the Caribbean, and its related activities. The tasks could include: • Contributing to the identification and processing of information related to the priorities of the countries of the region with regards to the environment. • Assisting with the organization of meetings, webinars and similar activities, including the preparation of agendas, drafting of background materials and meeting reports, in close coordination with the Programme Management Officer. • Supporting the preparation of briefing notes, information materials, and power point presentations. • Supporting the regular updating of the webpages of the Forum, as well as the preparation of communications materials such as press releases and newsletters. • Updating databases related to regional focal points and activities of the Forum. • Carrying out research, analysis and drafting of documents presenting data and information gathered from diverse sources to support the implementation of the activities of the Forum. • Supporting the work of Working Groups of the Forum, through preparation of meeting materials, taking notes, or gathering relevant information from different sources. • Supporting other activities of the Forum of Ministers of Environment as requested.
Qualifications/special skills
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Good knowledge of standard software applications, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint is desirable. Ability to work in an international or culturally diverse environment is required. Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is required.
Languages
Working-level knowledge of English and Spanish is required.
