Introduction
The Green Climate Fund is the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund and invests in impactful, innovative, catalytic programs and projects in developing countries across the globe. The GCF has a portfolio of 314 projects across 133 countries, with a total commitment of USD 18.0 billion to date.

Internship Assignment
The Intern will provide research, thought leadership and engagement support to the Chief Strategy and Impact Office (OSCIO), and in particular, the Head of Special Initiatives. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experience in investment in vulnerable communities and underserved countries by helping support the Fund’s special priority functions, especially in the area of vulnerability investment.
This role will support the Head of Special Initiatives to improve and increase the Fund’s investment in fragile and conflict-affected settings through contributing to (1) developing the Fund’s operational guidance; (2) researching and drafting knowledge pieces that analyse and communicate GCF’s experience; (3) analysing GCF’s current portfolio to inform future programming, and (4) identifying and preparing for strong public-facing engagement opportunities that build GCF’s reputation in this area. The intern is expected to assist with other tasks as needed.
Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the OSCIO the Intern is expected to:
• Provide general administrative support to the Head of Special Initiatives;
• Draft, edit and support the creation of clear, accessible information about GCF’s activities, and support the creation of GCF-wide tools such as teaching materials, presentations, and briefing notes;
• Support with conducting desk research and analyses related to vulnerability, faith-investment and climate change teaching/presentation preparation;
• Support with planning and organisation of FCAS- focused GCF campaign and mobilisation opportunities;
• Support with the preparation of mission briefing material for external engagements;
• Support with drafting of official correspondence, letters, etc.;
• Support with the planning and coordination of high-level and other external engagements;
• Support with conducting desk research and analyses related to contributor countries.
Requirements and qualifications
a) Enrolled in Master’s program in business, finance, climate change, sustainability or related fields.
b) Knowledge and experience with investments, financial institutions and/or climate change issues.
c) Good understanding and experience in operations of international organization is an added advantage.
d) Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana) and with Microsoft Dynamics is an added advantage.
e) Excellent writing and presentation skills;
f) Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
