The number of refugees remaining in Poland can be estimated at around 960 thousand. More than 40 percent of refugees from Ukraine in Poland are children and 65 percent are female. According to the latest protection profiling findings from Poland, 64 percent of the respondents plan to stay in Poland mainly due to safety reasons. To provide the best support to them, we work in different locations in Poland through diverse approaches: partner-led and joint IRC-partner interventions and activities led by the IRC in the frame of three programs: Economic Recovery and Development, Protection and Education.
Job Overview/Summary:
As Finance and Partnerships Officer, you’ll play a key role in managing the financial aspects of IRC’s partnerships in Poland. You’ll ensure strong financial oversight of sub-awardees, support capacity building, and maintain audit-ready documentation. This role bridges Finance and Grants & Partnerships teams, promoting collaboration and compliance across all partner engagements.

Key Responsibilities
Partnership Management
•Champion IRC’s PEERS (Partnership Excellence for Equality and Results) approach.
•Facilitate partner feedback and ensure responsive follow-up.
•Participate in Partner Project Capacity Reviews (PPCR) and risk assessments.
•Support partners in budget development, amendments, and milestone costing.
•Review financial terms in partnership agreements and tailor documentation requirements to partner contexts.
•Lead financial components of project opening, review, and closure meetings.
Financial Oversight
•Ensure timely funding and clear communication with partners.
•Review financial and narrative reports for accuracy and compliance.
•Monitor budgets and spending, resolving issues collaboratively.
•Conduct financial monitoring and submit reports to the Senior Finance Manager.
•Support financial close-out and asset verification.
Capacity Building
•Deliver tailored finance and accounting training to partners.
•Strengthen partner financial systems based on their operational needs.
Internal Collaboration
•Coach and mentor IRC staff to build technical capacity.
•Support the Finance Manager with BVAs, budget management, and accounting entries related to partners.

Requirements
•Fluency in Polish and strong English skills
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
•Minimum 1 year of experience in nonprofit financial management and donor-funded projects
•Experience in training and mentoring NGOs/CBOs
•Strong communication and presentation skills
•Ability to work independently and in teams under pressure
•Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
•Proficiency in MS Office and financial tracking systems
