BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The Logistics Associate (Supply Chain Capacity Strengthening), SC6. Dhaka will be part of the Supply Chain (SC) team and will report to the SC CCS (Country Capacity Strengthening) Officer. S/he will provide technical and administrative support to ongoing Country Capacity Strengthening (CCS) activities, assisting in the implementation of supply chain initiatives, coordination with partners, and monitoring of progress. The role will focus on supporting day‑to‑day operations and ensuring that WFP’s CCS efforts are effectively documented, communicated, and aligned with national priorities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Support to SC Country Capacity Strengthening (CCS) Engagements

1. Assist in the implementation of SC CCS activities, including stakeholder mapping, data collection, and documentation of capacity needs.

2. Provide logistical and administrative support to missions, workshops, and training sessions related to CCS.

3. Maintain records of engagements and follow up on agreed actions with national counterparts.

4. Contribute to strengthening preparedness by supporting assessments of capacity gaps and assisting in the implementation of agreed improvements.

Cross-functional Collaboration

1. Support coordination with other WFP units (school feeding, emergency preparedness, nutrition, etc.) to ensure CCS activities are integrated into wider programme operations.

2. Provide routine project management support to defined CCS projects, ensuring compliance with WFP procedures.

Evidence Generation and Knowledge Management

1. Collect and compile data for CCS monitoring and reporting.

2. Assist in preparing basic reports, summaries, and knowledge products for internal and external use.

3. Maintain files and databases to ensure lessons learned and best practices are accessible.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement

1. Support consultations with government counterparts, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners by preparing materials, scheduling meetings, and documenting outcomes.

2. Assist in mapping stakeholders and identifying opportunities for collaboration.

Others

1. Support efforts that aim to support the Government to plan and implement SC operations for timely, cost-effective delivery of commodities and services.

2. Performs duty as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 
Education: Completion of University Degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) is required.  Education in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or any relevant field is preferable. 
Experience: At least 6 years of overall experience in areas related to Supply Chain or other relevant fields.
Language: Fluency in spoken and written both in English and Bangla language.
