CORE Group fosters collaborative action and learning to improve and expand community-focused public health practices. Established in 1997 in Washington, D.C., CORE Group is an
independent not-for-profit organization, and home of the Community Health Network, which
brings together over 25,000 CORE Group member organizations, scholars, advocates and
donors to support the health of underserved mothers, children and communities around the
world.

The Internship will support and contribute to initiatives that advance global health
partnerships, event planning, donor engagement, and knowledge management. This position
offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit management,
resource development, and global health advocacy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

■ Assist with coordination of webinars, working group meetings, and communities of
practice within CORE Group.
■ Assist with organization event coordination related to global health membership events
and partnerships.
■ Support resource development research and drafting for funding proposals, donor briefs,
and concept notes.
■ Maintain resource development tracking tools and prospect databases.
■ Develop and maintain consultant database.
■ Contribute to communications materials, including newsletters, website updates, and
social media related to fundraising and global health impact.
■ Provide administrative support as needed to the operations and finance teams and Board
nominations process

LEARNING OUTCOMES  

■ Gain insight into how global health programs are managed and funded.

■ Build skills in nonprofit communities of practice and network management, operations and resource mobilization.

■ Network with professionals across global health organizations and partnerships.

This is a virtual position, although CORE Group offices are in Washington DC and the intern can work in the office if they live in the DMV area.

This position runs for 4–6 months, begins immediately, and includes a $3,000 stipend paid at the end of the internship.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor or master’s student with demonstrated interest in community-based global health, especially maternal, newborn, and child health or SRMNCAH.■ Interest/experience in international development issues, particularly global health, is desirable. ■ Experience in Microsoft Suite, Canva, WordPress, and Adobe Creative Suite software. ■ Experience organizing webinars or hosting virtual and in-person events desired. ■ Excellent written and oral communication skills. ■ Ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines. ■ Fluency in English required.
