KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
1. Provide day‑to‑day coordination and operational support for programme implementation across School-Based Programmes, HGSFP, ECD feeding, nutrition integration, resilience and food systems activities, ensuring timely follow-up and smooth workflow within the unit.
2. Support government and partner capacity strengthening by assisting with planning and delivery of training, dissemination of guidelines, systems orientation, and follow-up on actions that contribute to sustainable national ownership.
3. Assist in transition and handover processes by supporting documentation, tracking progress, coordinating with government counterparts, and ensuring follow up on actions related to WFP’s shift toward upstream technical support.
4. Support administrative and programme management processes including preparing and tracking MPOs, PRs, GRNs; maintaining filing systems; managing procurement documentation; and ensuring compliance with WFP procedures.
5. Assist in the preparation of workplans, mission schedules, training calendars and implementation plans, and provide logistical support for workshops, field missions and stakeholder meetings, including invitations, minute-taking and follow-up.
6. Support integration of nutrition into SBP, HGSFP and ECD programmes through contributions to recipe development, meal quality monitoring, hygiene and food safety practices, growth monitoring and adaptation of nutrition-related training materials.
7. Facilitate Programme oversight at field level and coordinate with field monitors by consolidating monitoring findings, clarifying issues, and ensuring timely submission and follow-up on monitoring inputs from the field.
8. Compile field information received from field monitors and partners into summaries, briefs and reporting inputs for internal and donor reporting, supporting data verification, quality checks and evidence-informed decision making.
9. Facilitate coordination and communication among schools, regional offices, communities, smallholder farmers, ministries and partners to support coherent and aligned implementation.
10. Support food systems strengthening and resilience activities through operational follow-up on local procurement processes, supply chain linkages, storage and handling practices, and community engagement.
11. Provide general administrative, logistical and programme support as required to ensure effective functioning of the School-Based Programmes & Resilience Unit.
12. Other as required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
- Five (5) years' experience in programme administration or implementation within education, nutrition, public health, or agriculture/food systems.
- Experience with government capacity strengthening, partner coordination or systems-building support is desirable.
- Experience with reporting, monitoring, training logistics and procurement support.
- Experience or exposure to school feeding, HGSFP, resilience programming or ECD feeding initiatives is an asset.
- Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition etc.).
- Has contributed to implementation of programmes.
- Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Strong administrative, coordination and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to prepare high-quality reports, summaries, minutes and programme documentation.
- Foundational understanding of nutrition concepts and their application in school feeding, resilience and ECD contexts.
- Experience with procurement processes, programme logistics and operational follow-up.
- Capacity for field monitoring, data collection and basic analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with government and community partners.
- Proficiency in MS Office and comfort with digital data tools.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of an undergraduate qualification in Nutrition, Public Health, Food Science, Agriculture, Education, Social Sciences, Supply Chain or related fields is required.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.
