Description
Social Media Coordination Officer, Digital and Print Products and Channels Office, Products and Channels Division, Communication Department, Director General’s Services.
Under the direct authority of the Head of the Digital and Print Products and Channels Office, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating ESA’s social media strategy across the ESA flagship social media channels and ensuring a coordinated approach to social media activities throughout the Agency.
In performing these duties, you will rely on and/or liaise closely with various offices within the Department, in particular:
- the Corporate and Institutional Communication Office;
- the ESA Member States Outreach Office;
- the ESA Brand Outreach Office.
Duties
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
- developing and implementing an ESA-wide social media strategy in line with the Three-Year Communication Strategy and the ESA Communication Policy;
- structuring this ESA-wide social media strategy through the management of the development and implementation of social media guidelines throughout the Agency;
- planning, in liaison with the Corporate and Institutional Communication Office, posts on ESA’s flagship social media channels in line with the Communication Department’s editorial planning;
- coordinating social media campaigns together with the ESA Member States Outreach Office for external partners such as Member States, industry and other relevant governmental agencies and organisations and elsewhere in the Agency;
- consolidating and implementing the content creator activity aiming at spreading the ESA brand and messaging with the objective of fostering a collaborative and engaged social media network;
- acting in direct coordination with the Head of Office to ensure the management of contracts falling under the responsibility of the post;
- overseeing monthly social media reporting for the Agency’s corporate social media channels;
- providing guidance and training to the ESA workforce on the use of social media in supporting the promotion of ESA’s activities.
In addition, you will:
- ensure the Agency’s brand is applied correctly across ESA’s social media channels and through the content creator activity in liaison with the ESA Brand Outreach Office;
- ensure ESA’s privacy policy is correctly implemented on its social media channels in liaison with the ESA Legal Services Department;
- liaise with the Emerging Technologies Communications Officer to ensure adequate use and implementation of AI tools and technologies in social media activities.

Education
A master’s degree in marketing, communication, digital management or a related discipline is required for this post.

In principle, recruitment will be within the advertised grade band (A2-A4). However, if the selected candidate has less than four years of relevant professional experience following the completion of the master’s degree, the position may be filled at A1 level.
During the recruitment process, the Agency may request applicants to undergo selection tests. Additionally, successful candidates will need to undergo basic screening before appointment, which will be conducted by an external background screening service, in compliance with the European Space Agency's security procedures.
