About this position
You will work with the Country Department Central America, Haiti, Mexico, Panama, and the Dominican Republic (CID), responsible for the strategic, programmatic, and operational relationship with Belize, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panama. Likewise, the Department fulfills the function of coordinating and facilitating so that corporate and operational activities and processes are duly integrated and attended to in the administrative instances of the institution, including the Board of Directors, Senior Management, and the different IDB Group departments. The Department is also responsible for monitoring the countries' macroeconomics and generating knowledge on strategic and operational issues. CID’s operational team requires the services of a professional to fulfill the following responsibilities and tasks.

What you'll need
- Education: A master's degree in economics, international cooperation, administration, finance, or related fields.
- Experience: At least ten years of relevant experience in public policy management and development programs in public administration and / or international development organizations, and at least five in project development and / or evaluation of effectiveness issues. Excellent analytical and strategic skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills. The position requires the ability to handle multiple demands and priorities and respond under pressure.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and one of these two Bank’s official languages, Spanish or French, is required.

Requirements
Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48 member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.
Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
