ITSET ensures coherence, interoperability, and business value realization through standards, reference architecture, and governance. The unit drives portfolio alignment, process optimization, and adoption of data-driven practices across the WBG.
Duties and accountabilities:
The Associate Senior Enterprise Architect – Data Architecture has deep expertise in data architecture and proven experience in translating business strategy into architectural solutions. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong capabilities in solution, application, data, cloud, and infrastructure architecture domains. Key responsibilities include: contributing to the extension of EA metamodel, supporting the EA repository management activities, reporting on technology and application KPIs, maintaining business and IT capability models, managing enterprise-wide technical debt, and advancing the technology and governance program with focus on open-source initiatives. The candidate must excel at creating architectural blueprints that align business objectives with technology solutions while ensuring integration across all architecture domains.

Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Data Architecture Leadership
1. Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture strategies, standards, and principles that align with organizational digital transformation goals and the WBG mission.
2. Create and govern enterprise data models including conceptual, logical, and physical data architectures that ensure consistency and interoperability across the organization.
3. Design reference architectures for modern data platforms including data lakes, data mesh, real-time streaming, event-driven architectures, and API-first data access patterns.
4. Lead the development of synthetic data generation frameworks to enable privacy-preserving testing, AI/ML model training, and secure third-party data sharing.
5. Establish data architecture patterns for cloud-native, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments, leveraging AWS, Azure, and other enterprise platforms.
Strategic Planning & Governance
1. Contribute to the extension and management of the EA metamodel for data architecture, ensuring it adapts to evolving enterprise needs while maintaining architectural integrity.
2. Support EA repository management activities to enable effective documentation, analysis, and reporting of data architecture assets and their relationships.
3. Define and track data architecture KPIs to measure effectiveness of data initiatives, technology investments, and business value delivery.
4. Lead technology rationalization efforts for data platforms to optimize the enterprise data landscape and reduce technical debt.
5. Participate in architecture governance boards, providing data architecture expertise and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
CDO Partnership & Collaboration
1. Partner with CDO teams to ensure data governance policies are architecturally enabled and technically implementable across the enterprise.
2. Collaborate on enterprise data quality frameworks, providing architectural guidance for monitoring, profiling, and remediation capabilities.
3. Work with data engineering teams on automated data lineage solutions that support impact analysis and regulatory transparency requirements.
