The International Rescue Committee (IRC) are continuously in search of exceptional leaders and consultants to advise and spearhead our World Bank-funded projects in the Crisis, Response, Recovery and Development (CRRD) unit focused on Education, Health, Protection and Economic Wellbeing. We are deeply committed to making a meaningful impact in these sectors globally, both in development and humanitarian contexts.
The IRC is seeking national and international candidates to fill the following roles:
- Team Leader(s)
- Technical Expert(s) – Education, Health, Economic empowerment, Protection, and Resilience (see below for more details on countries and topics)
- Environmental and Social Safeguard Advisor
These roles will be expected to be based in or travel to host countries, dependent on the location of the funding opportunity. Further details on contract type, salary and benefits package will be provided to selected candidates on a call-down basis.These are mid to senior positions which require outstanding critical thinking, organisational and representational skills.
We are eager to hear from senior leaders with:
- Demonstrated experience (7+) in complex programme design and delivery, including in fragile, conflict and violence (FCV) countries
- Prior experience as a Team Leader, Technical Advisor or similar role for WB will be advantageous
- Experience with management of consortia of international and local partners
- Ability to perform at a senior management level, including managing staff in a matrixed system with a focus on adaptive management
- Substantial experience working within WB operational footprint in developing countries and/or Fragile and conflict-affected countries (FCV) countries
- Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with government officials
- Fluency in English required, fluency in French or Spanish a plus
- For Technical expert roles, extensive technical experience working in initiatives related to Education, Health, Economic empowerment, Protection, and Resilience in development and/or humanitarian settings, will be crucial
