PURPOSE OF THE ENGAGEMENT
Smarter Good (the “Client”) engages the Business Development Consultant (the “Contractor”) as an independent professional to drive strategic growth through outbound lead generation and contract procurement. The Contractor is an external subject matter expert in the social impact sector and shall exercise independent professional judgment in identifying and qualifying prospects. The Contractor is responsible for their own lead-generation tools, networking expenses, and outreach methodologies. Success is defined by the delivery of qualified leads and executed service agreements.
DELIVERABLES
The Contractor is responsible for the delivery of the following specific work products:
STRATEGIC GROWTH & PIPELINE DEVELOPMENT

Quarterly Growth Roadmap: Delivery of a documented action plan outlining target sectors and outreach strategies to meet defined revenue milestones.

Pipeline Health Reports: Provision of weekly data summaries detailing lead generation activity, prospect status, and revenue forecasts.

Market Intelligence Briefs: Periodic reports on nonprofit sector trends, competitive benchmarking, and new service-fit opportunities.
LEAD GENERATION & OUTREACH ASSETS

Qualified Prospect Lists: Delivery of vetted lists of potential mission-driven clients, including needs-assessment summaries and alignment profiles.

Customized Outreach Portfolio: Production of high-quality, customized communication materials (pitch decks, introductory memos, and proposal templates) tailored to prospective partners.

Event Impact Summaries: Briefing reports following attendance at conferences or industry events, detailing new relationship leads and market visibility gains.
CONTRACT PROCUREMENT & ONBOARDING DOCUMENTATION

Executed Service Agreements: Delivery of signed client contracts that align with the Client’s pre-approved pricing frameworks and margin expectations.

Client Handover Packages: Production of a comprehensive "Transition Dossier" for each new client, including scoped needs, signed agreements, and initial onboarding documentation for the Client Partnership Team.

Negotiation Summaries: Documentation of finalized terms and client requirements for approval prior to contract execution.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Experience

Proven sales experience with a strong track record in new client acquisition and closing deals, including managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution.

Demonstrates the ability to proactively assess and diagnose client needs, and position solutions creatively in ways that align with Smarter Good’s evolving service offerings.

Deep understanding of and professional experience within the social impact sector in the assigned region (Latin America) is strongly preferred. This background is important for navigating local ecosystems, building authentic relationships, and leveraging regional networks to generate new business opportunities.
