About this position

The Technology and Transformation Department (TTD/TDS) is seeking a professional in Information Technology (IT)—technical, service-oriented, and proactive—to provide local IT support at the Country Office (Bank Representation) in Suriname.

You will work as part of the local support team within the Service Delivery area of the Technology and Data Solutions Division (TDS) within the TTD Department. This team is responsible for providing on-site technical support at the IDB Group’s country offices.

What you’ll do

  • Provide end-user IT support to IDB Group personnel at the Representation, ensuring effective use of IT tools (hardware, software, connectivity, and training resources).
  • Provision and manage standard workstations in accordance with corporate guidelines, supporting assets throughout their full lifecycle.
  • Ensure standard web conferencing equipment is properly maintained and operates at optimal performance levels.
  • Assist in the maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networking, telecommunications, security systems, facilities-related solutions, and coordination with local service providers.
  • Collaborate in the implementation of new IT initiatives, acting as a liaison to other IT teams and involved areas.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational documentation, ensuring proper registration in ticketing systems, reports, dashboards, and other required platforms.

What you’ll need

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the IT field, preferably in customer service and support activities. Experience in project management based on the PMI standard and Agile/Lean methodologies is an advantage.  

Knowledge in:

  • MS Windows 11, MS O365, MS Teams and communication platforms, mobile devices (Android/iOS), MS Active Directory/Azure AD, MS Intune, virtual environments (VDI), and computer maintenance (Dell).
  • ITIL processes for incident management, service requests, and knowledge base. Having certification or experience with Service Now is an advantage.
  • ISO 9001:2015 and continuous improvement frameworks. Having certification is an advantage.
  • CCURE & CCTV, BMS, and other facilities platforms are an advantage

Additional education/experience:

  • Proficiency in AI and generative AI technologies, along with their potential applications.
  • Extensive understanding of ethical considerations and responsible use of AI.

Languages: Proficiency in English and working knowledge of Spanish.

Requirements

Citizenship: You are either a citizen of the Republic of Suriname or a citizen of one of our , eligible to obtain a valid residency or legal permit to work in Suriname without the need for sponsorship by the IDB.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

National Consultant Full-Time. 12 months (up to a maximum of 48 months, if eligible).
