The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral, and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 100 countries and has 16,000 staff worldwide. In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence in Ukraine. We have over 900 team members working across the county in various professional fields.

ABOUT THE JOB

The ICRC Health Unit seeks a competent Data and Analytics Officer to join our team in Kyiv. The Data and Analytics Officer administers health data collected by the ICRC health teams to support activities entitled to ICRC protection & assistance under international humanitarian law.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in improving, developing and applying data quality monitoring processes and tools (dashboards, pivot tables etc.) and contributes where appropriate in Data Quality controls automation.
  • Supports the collection, compilation, and data entry to the institutional reporting tools used by the health department (MAD – Medical Activity database/DHIS2 – District Health Information System 2, PEARL, PMT – Planning and Monitoring Tool).
  • Carries out data processing, applies and updates data entry procedures and data collection tools, in collaboration with the Health Coordinator, Deputy Health Coordinator and Health Program Managers.
  • Works closely with the technical health data teams in Belgrade in Geneva, solving issues in the databases and other institutional tools.
  • Assists the Health team in reflecting on their performance measures and improvements in the functional area of expertise and provides ongoing support with data monitoring, analysis and planning.
  • Contributes to institutional reporting and dashboards by supporting colleagues in delivering reports, revisions and optimization.
  • Supports the Health Program Managers and Health coordination with analytics on health activities for internal and external reporting, in collaboration with the health team.
  • Acts as a focal point in collaboration with other departments, in particular Analysis and Evidence department, for holistic approach in Health Data visualization, analysis and reporting, including GIS data processing.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful as Data and Analytics Officer in the Health Unit, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics: 

  • Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
  • 2 years’ experience in similar field
  • 3-5 years of overall professional experience
  • Knowledge of BI, SQL, statistical packages, Tableau
  • Excellent command of English
  • Computer proficiency
  • Ability to interact effectively with data users, managers and other stakeholders
  • Ability to understand new business processes and their interplay with software and organizational structure
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
