About this position
We seek a dynamic and experienced leader to join as Capital Markets and Structured Finance Director. The candidate should be an experienced banker and /or corporate professional with significant expertise in debt capital markets, structure finance, and strong relationships with market stakeholders (investors, issuers, government entities, stock exchanges, rating agencies, among others).
The Capital Markets and Structured Finance Director is a senior leader responsible for driving execution excellence, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment in the Capital Markets and Structured Finance Division. This role focuses on delivering high‑quality capital markets transactions for both our clients and for IDBI’s own capital management, strengthening internal processes, and supporting the Managing Director in shaping and advancing the division’s strategic vision.
The Director plays a critical role in origination, structuring, mobilization, and stakeholder engagement, while ensuring that teams operate with discipline, accountability, and market responsiveness. You will also play a fundamental role in training junior talent, managing workflow allocation, oversighting MIS reporting and supporting the Managing Director in all relevant aspects to support business growth and team effectiveness.
What you’ll do
- Support the Managing Director in the development and implementation of a new strategic vision for the Capital Markets & Structured Finance division, aligning initiatives with the bank’s broader development goals.
- Operationalize the strategic direction set by the Managing Director, translating high‑level priorities into actionable plans, execution pathways, and performance frameworks for the division.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of global and regional debt markets to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges that inform product offerings and strategies.
- Lead hands‑on execution of capital markets transactions—including bond issuances, structured finance operations, and guarantees—ensuring high quality, strong risk alignment, and timely approval processes.
- Drive mobilization by structuring transactions that attract co‑investors, expand investor participation, and deepen institutional capital‑sharing capabilities.
- Support day‑to‑day operations of the DCM & Structured Finance team, ensuring productivity, disciplined execution, and effective workload management across the unit.
- Oversee internal processes, KPIs, and team performance systems that foster operational excellence and a high‑performing culture.
- Strengthen operational controls and risk‑mitigation frameworks to improve deal quality, reduce approval times, and enhance accountability across structuring activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, financial institutions, exchanges, and multilaterals to support origination, structuring, and market engagement.
- Contribute to the development of innovative capital markets and structured finance products, using market insights and client needs to guide product enhancement and design.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of Debt Capital Markets Delegated Facility (“DCMP”) amendments and extensions and other strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with division targets and institutional priorities.
- Promote knowledge sharing by disseminating best practices, representing the division in technical forums, and strengthening internal capabilities in structuring, execution, and market risk management.
What you'll need
• Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in finance, information technology, business administration, economics, international development, engineering, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. CFA, ICMA and/or ESG certification considered a plus.
• Experience: At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in an international financial institution, corporation, investment fund, multilateral development bank, rating agency, or other private sector entity is required.
- Relevant Capital Markets and Structured Finance and project management experience. Sustainable Finance experience considered a plus.
- Corporate finance skills.
- Led geographically distributed project teams to achieve key milestones and objectives, including the supervision of consultants and external contractors.
- Experience working in an international financial organization, large corporate or similar highly desired.
- Experience operating within complex organizations that balance multiple objectives as a requirement.
- Working knowledge of the following technologies and areas would be considered a plus: Bloomberg, Power BI.

• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
• International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
