 Jhpiego is hiring a Senior/Program officer based at NHM Jaipur (Rajasthan) to support the SPM for strengthening the Maternal and Child Health programmes to support the state for achieving SDG targets.

Responsibilities

  1. Program Implementation
  • Work closely with the State Programme Manager (NHM), Rajasthan, for implementation of priority MNCH interventions by providing clinical and programmatic guidance aligned with state priorities and objectives.
  • To support the development, strengthening, and integration of state digital health platforms.  Establish and maintain strong working relationships with relevant government officials and stakeholders at the state and district levels. 
  • Provide technical expertise in the design, planning, and execution of interventions to ensure achievement of intended maternal and child Health outcomes.
  1. Technical Assistance and Quality Improvement
  • Provide technical support for planning and implementation of capacity-building initiatives and MNCH interventions including anemia (FCM), GDM, HDP, obstetric emergencies, FRU strengthening and newborn survival (SNCU).
  • Support development, adaptation, and implementation of clinical SOPs, protocols, job aids, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with Project Directors Maternal and Child Health division to support documentation of achievements, best practices, innovations, challenges and lessons learned for internal and external dissemination.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination
  • Engage with state officials to strengthen collaboration.
  • Maintain regular coordination with district teams to support smooth execution of MNCH interventions.
  1. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
  • Collaborate with data team to track and monitor quality indicators and deliverables related to MNCH services.
  • Support development and use of dashboards and review tools to assess progress and identify areas for course correction.
  • Contribute to preparation of program reports, review presentations and technical updates.
  1. Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide programmatic and technical support to the supervisor as required and undertake additional responsibilities aligned with program goals and organizational priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate level qualification in Medical and Nursing education in India. Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Nursing/Public Health/Health Management will be preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience of working with public health programs especially in Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health or nursing-led public health programs, preferably within government systems.
  • Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strategies particularly National Health Mission would be advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of clinical MNCH standards, quality of care, and public health systems.
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in working with government’s Reproductive Health and Child Health programs, counterparts and systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Proficiency in writing technical documents such as training materials and reports.
  • Ability to work within an international program team and communicate regularly with a variety of team members.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other organizations.
  • Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks.
  • Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel extensively up to 50–60% of his/her time.
