Student Assistant Partnerships, Localization, and Strategy* 

in Bonn

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany. You will work 20 hours/week, to enable you to continue your qualification within the framework of your current studies. Mobile work within Germany is possible in agreement with your team. 100% mobile work is not possible. The position is remunerated with 15 Euro per hour.

The Sector Strategy, Knowledge and Learning (SEC) Unit connects and engages people, shares knowledge, and inspires for positive transformative impact. In your role, you will mainly work on new strategic initiatives linked to program quality and business development driven by the SEC Unit as well as on Partnerships and Localization. In close cooperation with other departments, you will gain a comprehensive insight into the activities of Welthungerhilfe and get to know the different areas of work of an internationally operating NGO. 

Your responsibilities

  • Create engaging content by turning ideas, concepts and reports into appealing visuals (e.g. presentations, infographics)
  • Support the development and communication of strategic initiatives and on partnerships and localization
  • Help build and improve structures facilitating process management and collaboration
  • Maintain and improve internal knowledge platforms and digital filing systems
  • Contribute to better knowledge management, documentation, and reporting structures
  • Support and engage virtual communities of practice on partnerships
  • Assist in conceptual and technical planning and organization of meetings, retreats, workshops and multimedia events

Your profile

  • You are currently enrolled at university/college, ideally in a field relevant to the position (international development cooperation, geography, social and political sciences, economics or comparable).
  • You have a strong ability to synthesize and visualize complex information and have excellent skills in Office applications such as PowerPoint. Experience in visualization, planning, and layouting software (e.g. Publisher, Canva, Miro, MS Planner) is desirable. 
  • First experiences in structuring and summarizing research are a requirement. First experiences in conducting literature research, qualitative research, and quantitative analysis are a plus. Skills in Excel, computer-assisted qualitative analysis, and AI tools for research and qualitative data analysis are a plus, but not a requirement. 
  • You are characterized by a structured and reliable way of working and have the ability to handle tasks in a self-organized manner.
  • Ideally, you have already gained some (work) experience in the field of development cooperation and have an interest in related topics and discourses (e.g. localization, decolonization).
  • Very good English skills are a must. A good command of German is a plus, but not a requirement.
