Position Title: Community Outreach Coordinator – Uganda Healthcare Modernization Programme
Location: Uganda
Organization: TCPNJ Global (Pty) Ltd
Reports To: Project Manager – Uganda Programme
Employment Type: Contract (Full-Time)

1. Position Overview

TCPNJ Global (Pty) Ltd is implementing a Healthcare Infrastructure Modernization Programme aimed at strengthening hospital systems and improving healthcare delivery across Uganda through infrastructure upgrades, equipment modernization, and enhanced operational capacity.

The Community Outreach Coordinator – Uganda will be responsible for building strong relationships between TCPNJ, participating hospitals, local communities, civil society organizations, and relevant stakeholders. The role focuses on promoting awareness of the healthcare modernization programme, facilitating community engagement, and ensuring that hospital modernization initiatives are aligned with community healthcare needs.

The Coordinator will play an important role in promoting transparency, collaboration, and community participation in healthcare improvement initiatives.

2. Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement

  • Develop and implement community outreach strategies to support the healthcare modernization programme.

  • Build relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and civil society groups.

  • Facilitate dialogue between hospitals and surrounding communities.

Awareness and Communication

  • Organize community awareness campaigns on hospital modernization initiatives.

  • Conduct community meetings, workshops, and information sessions.

  • Promote understanding of improved healthcare services resulting from hospital modernization.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with local government authorities, health committees, and community-based organizations.

  • Support the Project Manager in stakeholder consultations and public engagement activities.

  • Assist in coordinating meetings between hospital management and community representatives.

Programme Support

  • Work with Hospital Liaison Officers to ensure community concerns and feedback are captured and communicated.

  • Support hospital outreach activities such as health awareness events and public consultations.

  • Assist in coordinating outreach during hospital assessments and modernization planning.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Collect community feedback regarding healthcare services and modernization priorities.

  • Prepare reports on outreach activities, community engagement outcomes, and stakeholder participation.

  • Maintain records of community meetings, consultations, and awareness programmes.

Operational Support

  • Assist in organizing programme events, training sessions, and stakeholder workshops.

  • Support communication campaigns related to TCPNJ healthcare programmes.

3. Key Deliverables

  • Effective community engagement supporting hospital modernization initiatives.

  • Increased awareness of TCPNJ healthcare programmes among local communities.

  • Strong partnerships with local leaders and community organizations.

  • Documented community feedback contributing to hospital modernization planning.

  • Regular reports on outreach activities and engagement outcomes.

4. Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Development, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in community outreach, public health programmes, social development initiatives, or NGO projects.

  • Experience working with communities in healthcare or development programmes is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with Uganda’s healthcare system and community engagement frameworks is an advantage.

5. Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong community mobilization and engagement skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Experience organizing workshops, community meetings, and awareness campaigns

  • Strong report writing and documentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
