External Relations Department
The External Relations (ER) department was created in February 2020 and is comprised of 3 main but complementary functional areas: Private fundraising, Communications and Advocacy. The ER department is at the beginning stages of creating a radical and ambitious global strategy that will enhance IRC’s ability to ‘punch above its weight’ in private income, advocacy, and brand awareness. The main objective of the department is to enable this organization of more than 12,000 staff to have the resources needed to continue serving 18 million people worldwide in places affected by war and disaster, shape the humanitarian sector by influencing key policies and reforms, and build and grow IRC’s reputation.

The team is split into two pillars: Analytics Engineering & BI (focussed on data engineering and business intelligence); and Global Analytics (focussed on custom analysis, experimentation, and machine learning). You can expect to work across both pillars on a range of analysis and BI projects. You will report into the Associate Director, Global Analytics.

- Support the development of data models and reports for external benchmarking to assess performance against peers and identify opportunities for new investments.
Insights & Recommendations
- Support senior analysts and leadership by providing analysis that feeds into strategic recommendations for improving fundraising effectiveness. You will develop your skills in translating analytical findings into business impact through close collaboration with more experienced colleagues.
- Contribute insights that support global fundraising campaigns, donor retention strategies, and personalized donor experiences.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., fundraising, marketing, and finance) to ensure data-driven decisions are integrated into the global strategy.
- Serve as a key analytics point of contact for the Korea team, coordinating data requests and communicating findings across languages and time zones.
- Present findings to stakeholders, explaining data insights in a clear and actionable manner.
Process Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to enhance data collection and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with global goals.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging analytics tools and contribute ideas for improving the team's capabilities.
- Collaborate with fellow Analytics colleagues to maintain best practices in coding, statistics, and general analysis.
- Work with integrity and accountability to the “IRC Way” – IRC Global Standards for Professional Conduct.
