About this position

We are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Administrative Support Consultant. As an Administrative Support Consultant, you will provide comprehensive administrative assistance to ensure the efficient operation of the PTI Management Office, as well as the optimal planning and execution of the Sector’s work program and its component areas.

You will work in the PTI Management Office, part of the Productivity, Trade and Innovation Sector (PTI). This team is responsible for strengthening the competitiveness and productivity of Latin America and the Caribbean through financial and non-financial instruments that maximize trade integration, investment, technological innovation, and sustainable development in strategic productive sectors. It supports countries in their transition toward more dynamic, inclusive, and resilient economies.

What you’ll do

  • Manage correspondence, phone calls, emails, and general communications for the PTI Management Office.
  • Coordinate calendars, meetings, room reservations, and related logistics.
  • Organize travel arrangements, international meetings, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including invitations, participant registration, and follow-up.
  • Provide administrative support through reports, agendas, meeting minutes, and process improvements.
  • Maintain document management systems and organize records in EzShare.
  • Support budget execution, procurement processes, expense tracking, payments, and official travel.
  • Manage contracts, consultants, vendors, purchase orders, and payment processing.
  • Provide support for HR matters, office maintenance, and coordination with service providers.
  • Support special projects, data analysis, internal communications, and operational monitoring activities.

What you'll need

Education: Technical or Associate Degree in Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Law, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities for the role. 
Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in administrative and/or organizational support roles.
Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written, is required.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

International consultant Full-Time, 12 months (up to 48 months, subject to eligibility).
