The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the UN system’s designated entity for addressing environmental issues at global and regional levels. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UNEP’s Industry and Economy Division (IED) works with governments, businesses, and partners to develop and implement policies, strategies, and practices that are cleaner and safer, incorporate environmental costs, use natural resources efficiently, reduce pollution and risks to human health and the environment, and enable the implementation of multilateral environmental agreements. The UNEP Plastics Unit activates and scales global, regional, and national actions to tackle plastic pollution. All of UNEP's plastic-related projects, activities, actions, and results are consolidated into a Unit that leads and implements a system-wide transformation towards a safe circular economy of plastics. To support this work, UNEP requires the services of a qualified Graphic Design. Consultant to provide on-demand design, layout, content enhancement, and event-support services across projects implemented by the Plastics Unit. The consultant will ensure that technical outputs and event deliverables are visually appealing, clear, accurate, and consistent with UNEP’s corporate identity and publishing standards. The Graphic Design Consultant will be responsible for: - Designing, formatting, and producing visual resources, reports, policy briefs, technical documents, and publications to support programme delivery, ensuring quality, readability, and alignment with UNEP's branding and layout standards; - Developing information design, data visualizations, and digital assets (including social media banners, thumbnails and other online visuals) to disseminate programme information in accessible, visually compelling ways across UNEP channels. - Preparing and refining presentation decks and slide templates for meetings, briefings, and conferences; - Developing event materials, such as roll-ups, backdrops, agendas, name tags, signage, information panels, and digital displays, ensuring consistent visual identity.
