Overview of position Role objectivesKey Responsibilities:
- Provide project management and technical oversight for the installation, commissioning, and handover of field hospital facilities.
- Develop and implement installation work plans, ensuring activities are completed on time and in accordance with approved technical specifications and quality standards.
- Supervise contractors and monitor site preparation, installation progress, in compliance with approved layouts.
- Coordinate the deployment and utilization of installation equipment, including forklifts, trucks, and other machinery.
- Liaise with engineers and technical specialists to address technical requirements and resolve installation issues.
- Coordinate activities among contractors, government counterparts, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Monitor project risks, provide progress updates, and maintain relevant project documentation.
- Support inspections, testing, commissioning, and final handover of completed facilities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Deliverables
- Approved installation and operational work plan with periodic progress reports.
- Successful installation, commissioning, and acceptance of facilities.
- Final handover of operational facilities to the designated national authority.
This role reports to the line manager.
Key competenciesEducation
- University degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
- Minimum of three years of experience working in humanitarian or emergency settings.
- Experience supporting the installation or deployment of field hospitals, emergency infrastructure, or humanitarian response assets is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering, infrastructure, logistics, or construction projects in complex operational environments.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and government counterparts.
- Proven ability to plan and organize work programmes, manage resources, and monitor project performance.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments and under challenging field conditions.
This role has no team management responsibility.
Further informationPreference may be given to candidates with:
- Previous Ebola, Marburg, cholera, COVID-19, mpox or other infectious disease outbreak experience.
· Experience in the Middle-east, Africa, Asia or neighbouring / regionally relevant countries.
·Previous work with Ministries of Health, WHO, UNICEF, IOM, MSF, IFRC / Red Cross / Red Crescent, Africa CDC, UN agencies, INGOs, NGOs or emergency response mechanisms.
·Experience in complex, remote, insecure or conflict-affected environments.
·Experience working with affected communities in sensitive public health or humanitarian contexts.
·Previous emergency deployment experience.
