Role Summary 

The Supply Chain Specialist ensures the effective operation of the Swiss office and the flow of supplies and services that support Medair’s country programmes and emergency responses (G-ERT). The role oversees procurement, inventory management, transport, equipment and facilities management, and the maintenance of operational assets, systems, and supply chain resources required for emergency response activities. The Supply Chain Specialist also ensures compliance with Medair and donor requirements while driving continuous improvement across supply chain operations.

Project Overview 

The Global Logistics team manages all the activities related to supply chain management, fleet, equipment and communication means and base. The team also develops and owns the policies and processes related to logistics activities in the country programmes.

Workplace & Conditions 

Global Support Office (GSO) position based in Lausanne, Switzerland, Swiss or eligible EU citizens, or those with a valid work permit for Switzerland. Travel of up to 4 weeks/year for GERT deployment or workshops as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Manage supply chain operations, logistics assets and inventory at GSO Ecublens, ensuring timely, compliant and cost-effective support to Global Support Office functions, country programmes and emergency responses.  
  • Manage GERT inventories, emergency stocks, kits, equipment and related logistics systems, ensuring operational readiness and replenishment.
  • Oversee GSO Ecublens logistics operations, including facilities, assets, warehousing and service providers.
  • Support emergency responses through coordination of emergency supply chain activities and deployment logistics from GSO, including deployment when required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, compliance, MedEx support and designated business process expertise within Global Logistics.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with Supply Chain or Business Operations  
  • Minimum 5 years of proven professional experience on supply chain & logistics in cross-cultural & complex humanitarian settings  
  • Minimum 1 year of line management experience
  • Working level of English and French, other languages are a plus 
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and donor compliance requirements, Medair experience a plus
  • Medical logistics experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, experienced with supply chain management systems. Power App functionalities a plus.
